Weekly Wooot - Fuck Buttons

Epicsauce has teamed up with the excellent San Francisco blog SFist -- each week we provide SFist readers with a preview of the upcoming week in music.

Yet another stacked week with San Diego's excellent Crocodiles at Bimbo's tonight, Brooklyn's buzzed duo The Drums at 330 Ritch Thursay and post-punk trailblazers Mission of Burma at The Independent Saturday. And while tonight's show with No Age is sadly sold out, you still have one last chance to catch the Pixies perform their seminal 1989 release Doolittle in its entirety this week -- be sure to grab tickets to Tuesday's Fox Theater show while you still can.

We are particularly excited to catch Bristol's Fuck Buttons at Bottom of the Hill Friday. While we thoroughly enjoyed the duo's noisy 2008 debut Street Horsing, we - and just about everyone else - are simply in love with their sophomore effort, Tarot Sport. Armed with an array of drum machines and synths generally associated with electro, the duo has inexplicably managed to create a post-rock masterpiece in the spirit of Mogwai, God Speed You Black Emperor! and Explosions in the Sky. If the live show lives up to the album they may just surpass Fucked Up and fellow genre bending electronic-tinged act Holy Fuck as our favorite expletive titled band.
